STOP COMMENTING & START CREATING

No doubt, the internet has brought amazing things into our lives, we can see what art movements are happening in real time on the other side of the world, we can live abroad but still be close to our family and friends back home and of course we also have a abundance of animated gifs showing cats play piano.

If I was to point out one negative that annoys me  however, it would be about the accelerated speed of culture it has created. Due to the rise of popular streetwear/fashion/music/art blogs we don’t even need to experience things to have a opinion. People are so quick to judge things, comment on them and then forget them. I think this is a real shame that great things can be lost in the never ending stream of information. I used to religiously  check all the major blogs every morning or face the anxiety of not knowing what “the latest thing” was. Now information runs so quickly it doesn’t matter anymore, todays news doesn’t become yesterdays news, it becomes irrelevant news. I’m over the notion that anyone in a Supreme hat with internet access feels that they are a authority in all things good. Start creating something unique and stop commenting on other peoples work.

If you want to open a tumblr page, buy a freakin’ camera.

What has this go to do with my new 120 x 119.8 cm plywood sharpie illustration? Absolutely nothing, I just wanted a platform to rant.
